“My experience of the Marketing course was an extremely positive one. Postgraduate courses in Brighton Business School are particularly popular amongst international students and this gave me the chance to interact, work with and become friends with people of different backgrounds who had different experiences of both the theory and practice of marketing.
I found the course was effective in introducing me to the discipline of marketing, enabling me to familiarise myself with the main theories and principles and to discover which areas I was most interested in to study in further depth.
The marketing tutors were a constant source of support to me over the duration of the course, always on hand to help solve any problems I had or to develop my ideas. They were also keen for students to give feedback on the running of the course and how future improvements could be made.
Since completing the course, I have found work as an Account Executive in a Marketing Communications Agency in London. The job involves working closely with clients helping them to communicate effectively, build their brands and increase sales through advertising, direct mail, e- marketing, graphic design, web design and marketing campaigns. Already I have been involved in working with some high profile clients and have found myself drawing on the knowledge that I gained from the course. The marketing, branding and communications module helped me to decide that this was the area of marketing that I wanted to work in.”
“The international environment at the University of Brighton has enriched my appreciation for other cultures and allowed me to share the experiences of my fellow classmates. I value all of my experiences at the university, from my study in the UK to the dynamic classroom discussions and practical nature of the courses that are carefully designed to challenge you to apply what you have learnt. Living in Brighton is so amazing. Pubs, clubs, shopping, restaurants, cinemas, the marina, the pier and the beach in the summer. Everything is within walking distance. Brighton is so lively – it really is a 24/7 city!!”
“I really enjoyed the Masters Marketing course. I had a great time exchanging experiences with people from all over the world. The course covered different aspects of marketing and the lecturers were very helpful offering guidance throughout the course. The experience was so positive that I decided to continue my education and enrol for a PhD in Marketing.”
“The course not only provided me with the skills to compete efficiently in today’s fast moving environment, but also gave me the chance to work and make friends with classmates from various cultural backgrounds. Compared to my first degree in International Business, where the foundations of a career in business were laid down by touching the surface of a wide variety of areas in business, the Marketing course really felt like 'deep sea diving' – challenging and questioning widely recognised, but dated concepts such as the 4P's, and shifting attention to present and future challenges to marketing in an interconnected world with increasingly demanding customers – a great but demanding experience."
I decided to study at the University of Brighton’s Business School as it offered the marketing masters in English over one year of full time study which is unlike any of the courses in Germany. Some of my favourite aspects of the course were the way in which it was structured over the year and the variety of lectures I attended. I think the course has helped me to further my career by teaching me about important marketing issues and it has a strong practical orientation.
I would definitely recommend the course to others as it really does prepare you for your future career and the intensive support that the university provided along with treating me an individual is something I haven’t experienced in other institutions.
