Manchester is one of the UK’s best cities for students. It is a diverse and thriving city, blending a rich industrial past with a trailblazing future. There are people of all ages and all cultures building their lives here. But at its heart, the city retains a proud and distinctly Mancunian identity. Manchester is a truly exhilarating place to come and learn – no wonder so many people stay here after they’ve finished studying.
Our campus is designed around our students’ experience, providing them with some of the best learning and teaching facilities in the UK. The University is just a five-minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road Railway Station. Everything in the city centre is within walking distance; from shops and restaurants to bars and local attractions, but if you want to give your feet a rest, there is no shortage of regular buses, taxis and trams.
We’ve created outstanding academic facilities with stylish lecture theatres, seminar rooms and study zones, equipped with the latest technology and specialist equipment to ensure that you get the most out of your studies.
Our library is open 24 hours a day during term time and there are PC access and Wi-Fi zones all over campus. We have several fantastic sport facilities right on our doorstep, offering a great range of activities and membership deals for students. To help our students keep healthy or get started in sport we have a health and wellbeing programme to try activities for free on a drop-in basis.
Our student accommodation is conveniently located, either on campus or nearby, so that students are close to the buildings they are taught in as well as the library, Students’ Union and a range of food outlets. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi, have access to a shared kitchen and laundry facilities and prices include insurance. All of our student rooms are in buildings with a 24-hour security presence, so that students can feel safe at home.
Throughout their time studying at the University, our students have access to our Careers and Employability Service to help support them to find part-time work experience whilst studying, including work placements and internships. The team also support them to develop their employability skills and explore career options after graduation and our graduates are eligible for digital careers support for life. 93% of our graduates in 2016 went straight into work or further study within 6 months of graduation.
